Seeing as I work nights, I have a policy that I should never goto sleep just
after arriving from work. So, watching Anime that is playing late at night
doesn't become much of an issue. If I wasn't on nights, I'd still probably watch
it - regardless of how I knew I'd feel when my alarm went off in the morning...
^_^
If the series is really good, I tend to step back from it for a while. I watch
another series, and then re-watch it. Watching it again, I usually find things I
didn't notice before, or notice other points of the plot that makes the rest of
the series seem to knit together much better than I had felt previously - or
watch it again for the sheer pleasure of it.
The greatest example of this, is watching Kiddy Grade once more a few months
later. I found the ending to be quite entertaining with the scope of the
animation being my main focus of entertainment, but the second time around the
storyline and plot knitted together much more smoothly than I had previously
remembered.
I have watched the series three times in total now, and each time I feel a need
to restart it once more. However, I am currently re-watching Hellsing and taking
more interest in the various VA's, and trying to remember where I had heard
their work before. I also find re-watching an Anime quite helpful in picking out
VA's who had done work in games. I guess there are plenty of reasons why people
re-watch their collections, from sheer entertainment, to interest in the actors,
and because they're just addictive!
I finished watching Full Metal Panic Fumoffu quite a few weeks back, but I
haven't been able to get the opening theme, "Sore Ga, Ai Deshou" by
Mikuni Shimokawa, out of my head ever since. It's stuck on repeat inside my
head.
I had trouble remembering the first song from a game that I wanted to listen to
over and over again, but then it dawned on me. Remembering back from when I
owned my first computer and I could install anything I wanted on it without
somebody breathing down my back. Homeworld, the original. If anyone has played
it, the song runs along with the launch of the mothership. I eventually traced
the song down to "Adagio", sung by the "Choir of Voices". It
left such a lasting impression that I didn't hesitate to find it, and I have yet
to regret it.
